My Students

Central Florida is full of diverse, eager urban students, many of which come from low income families, and our school is no exception. These students are kind, passionate, and full of potential. As a new teacher, I am still learning about our students and school culture, but from what I have been told, this is a true community working to achieve what is best for our students. These students are in need of an enriching learning environment to foster their growth into outstanding citizens capable of positive change in this world.

My Project

As a new teacher, I want my students to feel excited to learn about the world around them. One of the best ways to do that is by reading. I want to inspire them to read regularly by offering them exciting and thought provoking options that will make them want to continue to read throughout their lives. A great classroom library helps create that interest. I am hoping to help develop lifelong readers in my classroom.

By providing different genres within our classroom library, I hope to spark the interests of all of my students, making them excited to pick up a book and read.
