My students need a leveled classroom library full of fiction and nonfiction books so they can have access to engaging books that are on their reading level and will support their love of reading.
My students walk in to school every day with a smile on their face and a willingness to try new things and learn. Every day the students are engaged and ready to tackle whatever comes their way. I love seeing their energy and their passion for learning, it reminds me why I wanted to be an educator.
I am a first year teacher, teaching in a new school in Utah where the best practices for Tier 1 instruction is our priority.
Many of my students come from loving and supportive homes, where education is a priority to them and their families. I want my classroom to be a space where students feel supported and their educational needs can be met.
My Project
I am requesting some classroom organizational materials to help create an engaging and welcoming environment for my students to learn. The use of a leveled classroom library will allow my students the opportunity to easily find books that are interesting to them and that are at their reading level. Reading is very important for children, so the use of this leveled library will help instill a love for reading and finding interesting books. When students can choose their own books and find their interests through texts, they are developing a love for reading and learning to see the world they live in in a brand new way.
Along with a leveled library, I am requesting a few classroom organizational materials.
I feel it is important for a teacher and classroom to be organized so the students know what to expect every day and so there is less stress in the classroom.
The donations to this project will help my students gain a greater love for reading, as well as be in a classroom that is organized and has resources for highly effective learning. I am a first year teacher and these materials will help my teaching for years to come. Having an organized classroom with materials accessible to students will further their learning and allow them to gain new skills and understanding. As a teacher, I need to be organized so I can effectively teach my students. The use of these classroom materials will greatly influence my class because it will help the classroom run smoothly and stay focused on what matters, their education!
