My students are developing mathematicians, scientists, readers, authors, technicians, artists, and so much more! They love any and all opportunities to learn new skills and concepts, but they especially enjoy engaging and "out-of-the-box" learning. The more we can "do" in our little teaching and learning community, the better.
I teach in a low-income/high poverty district, yet my kiddos have such a thirst for new knowledge, and it makes my profession that I already adore that much more enjoyable!
I strive to make their school experience to be the best it can be. I want to give them the very best and provide unique and engaging learning opportunities each and every day because I know that is what they thrive off of. I want them to continue staying curious, asking questions, building stamina, and developing perseverance.
My Project
Like most newer teachers, many of my classroom materials are second hand, and that is okay with me for most areas of my classroom. However, I long for my students to have a much more welcoming classroom library.
I would love for our classroom library to receive a makeover with colorful and matching book bins and a literacy genre poster set.
I feel that in doing so, it will be more inviting to the students and will, therefore, help spark and inspire their reading interests. With colorful book bins and literacy posters, I can boost my ability to foster a love of reading!
