My school is a Title 1 school located in a low socioeconomic neighborhood. My students have many challenges they face on a daily basis, yet they show up to school willing and ready to learn. Often times the bright spot in their day is coming to school. I want my classroom to be the highlight of their day! I strive to create a safe haven when other things around them are dark and dismall or out of their control.
All children deserve a bright future!

My Project
My students love to read independently, to each other, and to me. The only problem is that our books are worn and our classroom library is not a comfortable place to sit. We need new high-interest books and beanbag seats for our classroom library.
Your donation to this grant will help my students tremendously, by having them exposed to books to build their lifelong love of reading.
Having high-interest books readily accessible to my students will not only create a love for reading but will also take my students on adventures to places they would have never dreamed of.
