I am responsible for teaching the entire fifth grade language arts each day. Though my students come from various backgrounds, they come to school ready to learn and eager to share their experiences. They enjoy new challenges and have a strong desire to do well and be successful. They are eager to become better students and have a bright future ahead of them. My goal is to share the love of reading with my students and to help them understand that an entire world awaits them if they would only open the pages of a book and begin a new adventure.
My Project
What if student's could have their very own classroom library so they could check out books at their convenience? No longer would students have to wait to check out a book from the school or public library if their classroom had a bookshelf that housed books of interest just for them!!
Imagine how thrilled a fifth grade student will be when they enter their reading class and find a bookshelf full of books that contain various genres that peak their interest!
How much more engaged students would become if they were able to take control of their own reading. Will you please help us start a classroom library so that ALL students will develop a LOVE for reading that will go beyond their school days??
