My students need a rich reading library including popular titles for their age group like the series of Biscuit, Mittens, Henry and Mudge, and Little Bear.

My Students

I teach in a rural area of Maine. The community used to be a booming town with a operating mill. Now that the mill is closed budgets have tightened. Many families struggle to support their children through school. Even though budgets are tight students should still have a high quality classroom library.

Young students have a passion to want to learn and read high quality popular literature.

I teach my students to be excited about reading and to find just right books. In order for them to find just right books they need a variety of books that interest them.

My Project

These books will continue to enhance the print-rich classroom that I strive to create. I want my classroom library to be a place that my students enjoy to browse and read independently throughout the day. These up-to-date books will get my students excited about reading.

With these new books, my students will be able to choose from a variety of popular age appropriate books that will allow them to excitedly read independently.

With these popular titles in the library, they will be able to choose books that interest them. The best way to increase reading ability is to read more, and these books series will have my students wanting to read more to become stronger readers.
