Help me give my students tools for reading! Help grow their Classroom Library with a Word Family Readers Set, Guided Reading Levels G and H, and Scholastic Classroom Resources Nursery Rhyme Readers.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our first-grade classes consist of some of the most loving little individuals we have ever met. They are so bright and inquisitive. These students deserve it all and I will try my hardest to give it to them.
Our students are excited about school and learning.
The district we work for has a high rate of minorities. Most of our parents struggle financially. As their teacher, I would like to get things for storage for my classroom. I would like to make my classroom more kid-friendly and presentable.
My Project
I am really excited about this opportunity to create a library in my classroom full of amazing books. This is my 1st year at this school. I inherited a classroom library that does not have any grade level books for my students. Our scholars are often challenged by their circumstances, but as a teacher, I am determined to help them overcome the obstacles that have been placed in their way.
Developing a love of reading at a young age is vital in reading development.
When students are exposed to literature at a young age, they are more likely to be better readers as they get older. I am hoping the leveled reading books in this project will provide my students with a vast amount of knowledge and foster their love for reading.
I would like to provide my students with quality literature that is of high interest and accommodates a varied skill set. As the children select from our leveled books library, they will gain needed reading skills and also boost their confidence by choosing books that are just right for them.
