My classroom of first graders is full of diverse learners. My students needs vary academically, socially, and behaviorally. It is my job to teach them to read and see that they all develop the necessary literacy skills to be successful.
My students are curious and enthusiastic learners.
It is amazing to watch them grow into budding readers. It's an exciting time in their academic lives.
I believe it's extremely important to create a classroom environment that encourages learning while fostering diversity all while remaining organized.
I try to instill a love for reading in my students. My students utilize our classroom library multiple times on a daily basis. Books are constantly being shoved on and off the shelves.
Book bins will allow students to access quality children's literature every day.
Book bins would allow our classroom library to be organized according to subjects and genres, making it much easier for students to find a book. It will also give longevity to some of our books that get the most wear. Students could spend more time reading and less time scouring unorganized shelves. They will also learn to sort books by genre as they try to keep our classroom library organized.
