Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I work at a Title I school, where 75% of my students are low-income and receive free lunch. School is a very important part of their lives--as I teach them it is their way to a better life and they take that to heart. In our classroom, we work very hard on the basics of reading, writing and math. The students are working so hard to learn, and I would like them to have fun doing so!
Last year, I recieved the Classroom Jeopardy game and the students absolutely love it. Through Jeopardy, the students have fun and use teamwork to learn and assess themselves on what they have learned. I even write my own questions for test reviews. The current game has only three controls and I have 32 students. This leaves many students waiting their turn and sometimes losing interest in the game.
Our class could greatly benifit from the expansion set of this game. It would expand our current game from three controls to six and would also provide an additional score board. This is such a fun and great learning tool for the students and they get very involved in the game. This would further their interest and keep more of the students involved at the same time.
If you could only see the way they get excited when I set up the game, you would understand how much this game means to them. For me, it is a great way to teach and asses at the same time while having some fun, too. If you could please fund this proposal for the Jeopardy expansion set, we would have three more controllers and an extra score board.
