My students need this color ink because mine is the printer that supports the integrated English Language Arts and Art lessons in our school.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Have you ever looked at old photo albums and wondered what that world looked like in color? If you have, then you understand the difference my students experience when they can use color ink in my printer.
My students are normal teenagers in many ways.
They like music, clothes, sports, and video games. Unfortunately, most of my students did not grow up in an information-rich environment. They grew up in survival mode, seeing things they should not have seen, experiencing insecurities they should not have experienced, going without the basic needs of safety and security. Because they live in survival mode, they don't value being reflective. They don't know how to analyze and infer. Many of these students are teen parents now. Research shows that without intervention, this same pattern will be repeated for the next generation.
My Project
I believe, when given the opportunity, these under-privileged students make up for lost time. They want a better life for their children. They are like dormant seeds that have been waiting in the high desert for years, waiting for the right amount of rainfall to make them bloom.
I have watched this blooming over the past several years. It is truly a beautiful thing. Since the addition of our color copier, my students have integrated research and technology into the majority of their assignments. Several years ago, a former student purchased a color printer for my classroom through Donors Choose. Two years ago, caring donors like you funded our request for additional print cartridges.
Now, once again, we're out of ink, so I am coming back to the generous people at Donors Choose. My students need color print cartridges. Please donate once again.
My color copier gets used by my English classes as well as the Art classes, the PE classes, and some History classes.
Students are creating portfolios for college applications. Art is integrated across the curriculum. Seniors are generating senior projects. Creative writing is making visual poetry journals. Color is truly a beautiful thing!
