Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My amazing group of third graders are eager and asking to grow their brains. This group of students are creative and hardworking but yet they desire our classroom to have a bit more options.
Our school and district has limited access to resources for classroom improvements.
Therefore, we are in need of classroom improvements.
Most of my students come from low-income households. In addition, all are served free breakfast and lunch. Despite financial challenges, they come to school every morning ready to learn and are always giving their best.
My Project
Our classroom is in need of a few improvements to keep learning fun and coming to school a place where kids want to be and will flourish. This project is a combination of lighting improvements, flexible seating options, and items to improve our "Makers Space." Another improvement needed in our classroom is small group chart paper with easel and pens for groups to collaborate and make presentations. We are about halfway through the school year, and these improvements are greatly needed due to the types of learners I have this year in my classroom. I feel these improvements will be used daily and are much appreciated.
