This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Autism now affects 1 in 68 children. Our classroom has five amazing and affectionate students with autism. Everyday, I work hard to provide them with lessons, materials, and technology that will improve their lives. In our classroom, we focus on the acquisition of communication, social, academic, and life skills.

Many students with autism need special accommodations to help them succeed in the classroom.

Throughout the use of visuals (SO MANY VISUALS!), communication devices, adapted books, and other accommodations, my students have become successful in their learning environment, but there's still more they need to succeed!

My Project

These durable headphones will go with our computers and our listening center. Throughout the day the students use the computers frequently. They use multiple computer programs and work on IEP objectives. Additionally, the students enjoy earning computer time after completing their daily work rotations.

Although many students in our classroom cannot read at grade level, the headphones would be a great addition to the listening center, as they will allow students to listen to grade level text and follow along with the books.

These durable headphones will be a great addition to the classroom, allowing the students to listen to the computer or listening center, while other students can work quietly in the classroom.
