Genuine, strong, excitable, and passionate- these are just a few of the words that describe my students. As students growing up in a community with high socio-ethnic diversity, my students bring life, individuality, and unique experiences into the classroom.
The life experiences and personalities that enter my classroom infuse and enliven everything we learn.
Sometimes life makes learning hard, but the strength and passion my students bring to the classroom ultimately brings our learning to a whole new level. Help us achieve even more growth!
My Project
Our class was just granted permission to create a garden to learn the NGSS standards tied to the Diversity of Life. The garden will provide hands-on, relevant, and community-based learning opportunities for everyone involved.
Help us grow our learning even more!
Not all of our community has access to garden space or quality fruits and vegetables, so this garden will be a space for my students to learn science, health, and life-skills that can be brought back into the community.
We already have the raised beds, soil, and plants, but we need your help purchasing the tools that will help make this garden an enjoyable and engaging experience! The rain ponchos and gloves will help keep the students warm and dry in our rainy Pacific Northwest weather, helping them stay excited about the garden. The trowels and cultivators will help the students learn best gardening practices. And the fence will help keep our work safe from any shenanigans at recess.
