This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach at a middle school in San Jose, California, where most of my students are from low-income families. This year, I teach a group of 6th graders and 4 groups of 8th graders. They are happy and hard working.

My Project

Usually, I provide opportunities for my students to learn outside of the classroom environment. Unfortunately, COVID prevents us from having field trips. In my previous school, I had a fish tank and my former students loved being able to take care of the fish. I told my current students about it and they were excited. I brought my old tanks to the classroom only to find out the filter, heater, automatic feeder, and light are all dead.

Please help me replace these items so my students can have the opportunity to take care of our classroom fish.

Having a fish tank with running water in the classroom can help students relax as well.
