Help me give my students materials they need to relax and complete their best work in my classroom. Stress balls and figets are very common for students who need to always be holding something.
My group of students is a fun-loving bunch who love hands-on activities and collaborative learning. The students in my room are constantly moving and chatting about science and social studies. They ask lots of questions that challenge even my thinking about concepts. These students are very passionate about STEM learning ideas that they can use in the future. The thing I love most about them is their compassion and love for their fellow students.
Each student I teach has a unique and individualized style of learning, and I try my best to reach all of their needs.
My fourth graders rotate classrooms so I have the great pleasure of teaching three full classes of students each day. In 4th grade, it is their first time changing classrooms and it does take an adjustment for all of them. Giving them some say in how they learn helps make the adjustment easier.
My Project
The stress balls and fidget toys will help students who need to be moving at all times. These can also help students who have test anxiety by helping them relax a little bit more. The wiggle seats will help students who might have a sensory disability and need to be sitting in their seats for awhile. The dry erase clipboards are a great tool that can be used in multiple ways for learning.
As a first year teacher, I have noticed that there are certain things I really could benefit from having in a classroom.
These materials would help the overall tone of my room and help increase the level of relaxation students can have during assessments.
