Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our district has many challenges and it's our students that suffer the most. All of our students receive free lunch. My students are a minority population from poverty. They deserve a chance to have the same opportunities as other kids. They are enthusiastic and eager to learn. My students enjoy learning science through games, centers, and stations in an exciting and active way. They need every opportunity to learn and become successful members of society. These supplies, albeit simple, will give them the tools to be creative and enjoy my science class.
My Project
The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students already have a "home." In other words, I know exactly where everything will go. We just need your help in getting everything through our door! The colored pencils and markers will be used by the students so that they may create colorful replicas of the Earth or space. The shelf will be used to organize their supplies, as well as house educational science books they may want to peruse during any down time. Tissues and antibacterial wipes are always useful, especially since our lunchroom isn't big enough to house all of the 7th grade students, and they come up to my classroom to eat or for recess.
The donations to this project will help to improve my students' understanding of and competency in authentic, meaningful writing.
