My students are amazing! They are over-comers. The majority of my students come from poverty and tough home situations. Our school is their safe place to be loved, fed, and taken care of.
My students work hard to overcome the obstacles they face in school and at home.
I have a high population of special education and remedial students. I teach two inclusion classes with a special education teacher. My students crave the attention they do not receive at home and love to work one on one with an adult.
My Project
For me to be an effective teacher and for my students to succeed, we need supplies.
We are requesting pencil sharpeners, white board, and organizing cart.
My students use colored pencils almost everyday in my math class, so of course they have to sharpen them often. Each students will be able to have an individual sharpener for their desk, so they can sharpen their pencils instead of having to get up and stop their learning. We go through a lot of large pencil sharpeners in my class, so this sharpener will be replacing a one that no longer adequately sharpens pencils.
My students will love these new supplies and it will help them focus on learning. We currently do not have a white board at the front of the room so this board will be used to work math problems.
