Help me give my students the materials needed to improve their daily participation. Large chart paper, markers, staplers, and post-its can be used for creating exciting gallery walks to share new ideas.
My kids are absolutely incredible. They come from extremely diverse backgrounds, work so hard in and out of school to prepare for their futures, and love their community. Specifically, the students this project would be helping are in high school and could use more easily-accessible technology in their classrooms.
The students I serve are some of the top-performing students in our state, yet due to allotment of state funding rules, we don't get as much funding as we'd like.
Helping us complete this goal would totally change the types of learning they are able to complete in our upper-level school.
My Project
My students need new chart paper, markers, post-its, staplers, and other materials to build successful gallery walks. During these walks my students will be able to learn from one another's successes in both my test prep classes and my English classes.
I truly believe that students can greatly impact one another and can often put things into words better than I can.
To help foster this type of helpful community I'd like to implement some new classroom activities. Currently we do not have enough materials to make these activities possible.
With the funding of this project I will be able to get my students out of their seats more often, which could help them in several ways to become more involved in the classroom. We will also use the folders, binder clips, and push-pins to stay more organized and display all of our hard work.
