My students need classroom essentials! We are going through supplies like crazy! We are in need of glue sticks, card stock, dry erase markers, and laminating pouches to save our work!
We are an eager class of 25 students! We love to learn and especially love reading! Our students come from a variety of diverse backgrounds, but our elementary school acts as an all-inclusive family to meet the social and academic needs of our learners. Over 60 percent of our scholars are English Language Learners and over 95 percent of students identify themselves as African American, Asian American, or Hispanic. Over 90 percent of our students qualify for the USDA's Free and Reduced Price School Meals program, meaning that over 250 of our approximately 277 students come from families whose incomes are below the poverty level.
My Project
We are in need of classroom supplies to make it to the end of the year! We have just about used all of our glue sticks, dry erase markers, card stock and laminating pouches used to save and publish our work best work. We are a group of first grade students who love to work and without supplies like these, it makes it really difficult! We will use glue sticks and card stock for our art projects. We like to do art projects as often as we can. Using art to express ourselves is a big deal in first grade! The dry erase markers will be used for our centers in math, for word problems, addition and subtraction problems, number work and in reading for word work, writing sentences, and expressing ourselves through writing. Finally, we use laminating pouches to save our finished work. Laminating writing and art projects are a way for use to keep our work safe for a long time!
