My Students

Our school is the greatest place to be! My Kindergarten students are special because they work so hard and love school! Many of our students have special needs and various learning struggles such as ADHD, Communication Impairments, and Dyslexia to name a few.

We come from a small, tight knit community, and have excellent teacher-parent communication.

We are a Title One funded school because many of our children come from poverty. We strive to provide valuable experiences for our students.

My Project

During the first week of school, my classroom was found to have mold. Our school was closed for the remediation process and when we returned, we found many items could not be saved. Among those items were all 3 of my classroom carpets.

Kindergarten students rely on the use of a classroom carpet daily and it has been a real challenge not having at least one.

We gather on the carpet for our morning meeting, read aloud time, small group time and also for play. It is very important for the students to be able to have flexible seating at a young age when they are adjusting to the school setting.
