My students need commonly used classroom supplies such as laminating pouches, colored paper, and a crayon sharpener to make their space more organized and fun!
My kids stay in the same classroom for reading to math, which means my classroom is their home away from home. In my school, these students are given many responsibilities throughout the day. My school is a Title I School in the middle of an extremely diverse community. Many students rely on school for a safe environment and receive 2/3 of their daily meals in school.
I believe that in addition to providing my students with the best education possible, my job includes providing a safe, comfortable environment for my students to always feel welcome and wanted.
I do my best with whatever resources I have available, but being a fourth-year teacher, these resources are limited. I love my students as if they were my own children, and would do anything for them to feel the love and comfort I try to provide for them.
My Project
I chose some products from Amazon that I believe will make my students feel more at home in the classroom and make basic activities in the classroom more fun and easy. One huge aspect of our day includes centers in both math and reading where the students are moving around the classroom, and supplies such as clipboards, clear dry erase pouches, spinners, and the supply drawer system will help students get the most out of our flexible seating. I also ask for a few reams of colored copy paper. I have learned that anything on colored paper motivates the students even more than white and if it something as small as that to motivate students to read passages or complete activities, I will try it!
My students deserve the world and I wish that I could fund that myself, but I can do much more with your help.
I also chose a crayon sharpener which is a wonderful resource to make sure my students are able to get the most out of their school supplies. I make sure to incorporate as many fun projects and activities into the curriculum as possible and many include coloring. This would maximize the life of the student's crayons. Laminating pouches are one of the most expensive purchases that I take on as a teacher as I use them in so many aspects of the classroom and instruction. Many things that the students use, I have created or purchased files from other teachers and I would love for these products to be able to be used for years to come. Laminating the instructional resources ensures that these supplies will hold up through much student use. The lights that I have added to my classroom wish list are strictly for making our classroom a home!
