My students need materials for block play and dramatic play. Over the years the materials have become worn out or have even broken because of wear and tear.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach 20 4-5 year olds in a public school. My school is housed in a community that is very family oriented. Most of my parents were students at the school themselves, having sat in the very same classroom as their children. I am able to communicate with my parents daily, thus creating a partnership with regards to their children's learning and growth. My students are creative and have a love for learning and are curious about their world. Each student is unique and brings a variety of experiences that make our classroom community a bright and exciting pla e yo learn.
My Project
The materials and supplies that are included in this project are materials that will be used daily by the students in the interest areas of the classroom. The blocks, wooden vehicles, and wooden dollhouse furniture will enhance our block area and provide more room for imagination. The housekeeping stand will help the students organize and store materials they use daily. The light table and blocks will enhance our depleted manipulative center. Each item already has a designated place. A lot of the items I am requesting are items that have become worn and even broken through years of daily use.
The parent engagement materials will allow students to continue to make necessary connections at home with their families so that the learning doesn't end.
