My Students

I am beyond blessed to have the opportunity to teach at the elementary school I went to as a child. This school and this community hold a very special place in my heart. These kids never cease to amaze me every time they walk in. My students come to school from all different backgrounds, family dynamics, and hardships, but each day they find a way to brighten up the day. I know they make my life better just by seeing them grow and learn.

My school is part of the Primary Years Program.

The PYP prepares students to become active, caring, lifelong learners who demonstrate respect for themselves and others and have the capacity to participate in the world around them. It focuses on the development of the whole child as an inquirer, both within and beyond the classroom.

With their creative minds and a little hands on learning opportunities, I see unlimited possibilities for these kids.

My Project

Each one of my students takes on a job every week in our classroom. One of our jobs is to file their own graded work. It is important for students at this age to understand responsibility and become an active member in our classroom. They love helping out and it teaches them to take on a job and be responsible for completing that job. It is important for us to get this wooden mail organizer to replace our cardboard one that we currently have. The wooden one will last for years to come and will help me continue to mold responsible students.
