My students are vibrant and full of life! They know how to persevere and work diligently regardless of the circumstances. The area that my students come from is diverse in many ways (in terms of finances, education, race, religion, age, gender, etc.). The same microcosm can be seen within my school and classroom.
My goal is for my students to have a classroom community that they thrive in.
I want my students to embrace diversity and use these opportunities to build meaningful relationships.
My Project
My students need a space where they can call home. I want my students to walk through the door, and look forward to coming to school. I want the space that they occupy to have both style and comfort. In order to do that, I need resources to make my classroom pop.
As a first year teacher, it is hard to financially provide a beautiful classroom that makes my students feel welcomed.
I spend my days planning and preparing lessons, but little time and effort is left to plan for the environment in which students will soak up those lessons. In my opinion, a classroom says a lot about a teacher. Students spend more time at school then at home, so it is important to me that I provide the best possible space for my kids and their families. I am requesting resources that I can add to my classroom to make my students feel welcomed. A new classroom rug will help my students enjoy reading and other educational activities. Any donations to would be greatly appreciated.
