Classroom Comfort Creates Cool Vibes

Help me give my students disposable masks, silicone pop it toys and yoga mats to make our classroom safe and comfortable.

My Students

My students are full of G.R.I.T.--gumption, resiliency, integrity, and tenacity! My students are my family, and I want them to be successful, in science and in life. It is my goal to inspire each student to become an independent, lifelong learner capable of critical thinking and great achievement. I want every student to realize that they can find success in what they do and that no achievement is small or insignificant.

Students love exploring, experimenting, and engaging.

Many of my students are identified as having a learning disability, dyslexia, or other health impairments that have to be overcome in my classroom. New ways of building excitement in the classroom have to be introduced so that every student comes to school ready to learn. Everything I do in my classroom is meant to create a love of learning. I strive to create a classroom filled with joy, love, and authenticity.

My Project

Classroom comfort makes learning fun! When students are comfortable and safe in their learning environment they are more engaged. Having disposable masks in the classroom encourages mask wearing while working collaboratively. My students feel comfortable asking me for a mask and I love being able to provide them one and continue to encourage their mask wearing.

We've all become a little more anxious during this pandemic.

Pop-its are a great fidget tool that helps students focus and deal with anxiety in a healthy way. Having pop-its available in the classroom make it easier to help students who may be struggling to feel safe and comfortable.

Many of my students enjoy working on the floor. Our classroom is tile and can get hard and cold after sitting on it for too long. Yoga mats make for added comfort and are also easy to clean. When not in use the yoga mats are easy to store in a classroom.

With these items I hope to improve my student's learning environment.
