Kindergartners come into school so eager to learn every day. For a lot of my students, this is their first time in a classroom setting. I want to help my students reach their highest potential in my classroom by providing them with all of the necessary tools to do so.
At this age, children learn and grow so much each day.
I believe that creating a positive learning experience for these students will transfer into their feelings about school for years to come.
My Project
STEAM has become such an important factor in education today, so I would love to provide my students with hands-on learning experiences through technology. With the Osmo Genius Kit, my students would be able to interact with our iPads and build their math and reading skills. They would also be able to improve fine motor skills and spatial awareness with the drawing and tangram features.
In addition to using technology more in my classroom, I would like to give my students the opportunity to learn to code.
The Osmo Coding Game and Bee-Bots would be a great introduction to coding for my kindergarteners. When students learn to code, they develop new ways of thinking and build problem-solving skills. The Osmo game would give my students a hands-on learning experience through technology and my students can use their coding skills with the Bee-Bots while practicing math and reading. In Kindergarten, creating an exciting and positive learning environment is my top priority. I think that incorporating more technology and coding into my classroom would make a huge difference.
