My students need a rug for our circle time. Right now we don’t have a rug at all. I love this rug because it has definition of each child’s space and I love the shapes!
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I have twenty-two, four and five year old students who love getting their hands on things. That is why I try to provide hands-on activities and experiments for my students, and to create a bright/happy environment to help promote their learning. I love the excitement they have for new experiences and try to provide as many of these experiences as I can. These students are not only learning academics but learning how to be a friend and follow rules.
My Project
This rug will help students know their own personal space while sitting in our large group time. Anyone who has taught such a young grade knows how important and helpful this is. I love the shapes because it can help those who haven’t learned them yet to learn them, and also makes it easier for transitions because I can call a row of shapes to get up at a time. The class rug is always the center of attention in the classroom and this one will surely be loved. As of right now we do not have a rug at all.
