My students are an amazing group of kids growing up in a world filled with technology. The world is at their fingertips and I love teaching them that they can learn even more about what we are studying in class!

Our district is one hundred percent on board with using technology in the classroom but there simply is not enough to go around at this point. Currently, I have 25 students and 4 Chromebooks. By adding more technology to our classroom, I am providing more opportunities to reach students!
My Project
We use our Chromebooks every day. There are so many engaging and interactive programs available to 2nd grade students! They are excited every single time we discover a new one! They work together to research topics we are learning about in class, work independently to master math facts in a fun, engaging way, and also sharpen their reading skills. There are so many wonderful programs available and I want my students to be able to use them to their full potential! Adding another Chromebook to our classroom will get us one step closer!
In Second grade, we make the amazing transition from learning to read, to reading to learn.
It is truly inspiring to witness this. I have had my group of kids for two wonderful years and watched them go from sounding out the word CAT, to reading full articles about astronauts or arctic animals! I know part of their success comes from the availability of having high interest research topics right in the classroom! We have four, but we need more! I know technology makes a big difference!
