My Students

Being in a rural school district presents unique challenges and rewards. I teach in a county with no streetlights and very little in the way of businesses producing tax revenue . The poverty rate is high, but the happiness rate is higher. My students are creative, curious, and kind to others. My administration is supportive, my school day is fun, and they even let me roller skate while I teach.

In every statistical way these are disadvantaged students, but in my eyes and in my heart they are the most amazing children with the potential to do anything!

My Project

When our schooll was built back in the 1990's they installed carpeting throughout the building. We are fortunate that the county has finally found a way to fund replacing the old, wornout carpeting with tile throughout the entire building. My students spend a lot of time on the floor and I want to make sure they are comfortable. No one wants to sit on a cold tile floor. I am hoping to have this carpet for the beginning of next school year and appreciate any help you can give me!
