My Students

I teach First Grade at a wonderful school that is full of great students! We are a Title I school and have a high percentage of students who are receiving free breakfast and lunch daily. My students are caring, outgoing, and creative first graders. We are an elementary school in the only district in Missouri without a racial majority. Our school has very limited materials and resources. I have a vast variety of learners who come from different ethnicities and socioeconomic levels. My students come to school every day ready to learn. They enjoy learning new things and are not afraid to take risks. They love to read and love lots of positive attention. When my students come to school, I provide them with a positive learning environment. By doing this in a creative and positive way, I am hopeful to inspire my students to continue on a path of academic excellence.

My Project

My first grade students need a large classroom carpet. We will use this carpet for whole group learning, story time, calendar, and morning meetings. With this classroom carpet, students will have their own personal spots to sit on. This will make learning easier because all of my students will have their own personal spaces and won't have to worry about other students touching them. We need a classroom carpet so each student has their own comfortable learning space. When my students have their own learning spaces, they will be able to focus on their learning to reach all of their goals.
