My Students

The 23 students in my kindergarten classroom all have unique characteristics and have their own learning techniques. These students are a kind and helpful group who really enjoy learning. Some of the students are above the standards of kindergarten, some are below, and some are right on.

This group of students has learned how to work together and independently in a quick manner this school year.

They are always receiving positive reinforcement and encouragement to continue learning and to never give up!

My Project

In kindergarten, instruction is provided through many methods. One of these methods is whole group instruction. During whole group instruction, students need their own personal space to be seated in to obtain focus on the material being presented.

This would be an effective transitional meeting area between tasks throughout the day.

Students return to their own spot on the carpet when transitioning. The teacher is able to see who is prepared to move on to the next task by how the students are seated on the carpet.

A carpet with individual seating squares is effective in obtaining attention and focus in the classroom.
