My students need a carpet to expand our learning space on the floor. We will use it to gather on for morning meeting, read aloud, interactive writing, SMART Board lessons, and more!
We are a small town school in northern Minnesota with students from a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds.
My first grade students are creative, curious, kind, and they are excited to learn and grow!
They come to school each day excited for new adventures in reading and learning.
My students are learning what it means to be part of a community and how to work together. Our community is very close, and the kids refer to our class like a family.
My Project
This rug, in calming colors, will provide my students with a designated and comfortable space for whole group and small group activities. It will provide us with a place to learn, communicate, and grow on. The carpet also has designated "leaf" spots to help students understand personal space.
Research shows that it is best practice to have a comfortable space for the whole class to gather.
While the space is already designated, this carpet will really define the space and make students feel more at home and safe, rather than sitting on tile. This rug will make our classroom feel warm and inviting.
