Classroom Bookshelves

My Students

My students are all incredible individuals with goals, dreams, and so much personality. They attend multi-sensory dyslexia intervention class every single day (in place of an elective) for two years. The curriculum is the rigorous Take Flight program, a comprehensive intervention for students with dyslexia, a multi-sensory, structured approach to teaching developed at Scottish Rite Hospital. All have expressed frustration with their dyslexia and how it has impacted their lives.

School is harder for them because reading is required in all of their classes.

Though an obstacle, these middle schoolers are relentless in the Take Flight program. They come in everyday and work their very hardest. I have seen them grow and support one another in this first semester as I've never seen before. I am so proud of them and all they have accomplished.

My Project

These bookshelves will be used to house our brand new book sets (thank you DonorsChoose donors). Right now we do not have enough space on our small bookshelf. I have tried to gather bookshelves where I can, but we are in need of something more substantial. These two bookshelves will look great in our room and allow me to get all of the classroom books on display (some are in cabinets due to lack of space).
