My Students

Students at my school are inquisitive, compassionate, and creative. Many are from families where English is not their first language. I teach a 4th grade gifted cluster of students. These students have needs for enrichment that extend beyond the regular curriculum. They often have high energy and are passionate about school. I create a vibrant learning environment where they can thrive. Each day students inquire about what projects we will be doing. There is an excitement for learning in my classroom.

My Project

Our students need resources! With the lack of funding in education, it is often up to teachers to purchase books for the kids. I like teaching in units and these books will help with a unit on the ocean. Our first nonfiction unit will be an interdisciplinary one about the ocean. We will be learning about waves/currents, marine animals and adaptations, ocean conservation, ocean exploration and climate change. I find that teaching in units gives kids the depth of knowledge they need to be successful readers. They love learning about all kinds of different subjects. I really appreciate your support and thank you for your support!
