My students all have the drive to read and to use their imaginations. This allows them to expand their minds! Without a proper classroom library, it is difficult to make sure that we have the right tools to teach them how to develop their reading skills.
My students are avid readers with an eagerness to experience new adventures and realities through classroom literature.
These students attend a Title 1 school (with a high percentage of low-income families) and may not have consistent access to books in their homes.
My Project
Help our classroom libraries grow! All students need books to help them grow and expand their knowledge as well as their imaginations. We need numerous books in order to do this, and we need multiples of popular books so that we can have group reading time.
Donations to this project will help expand student imaginations while keeping them interested in learning and reading.
All of this will help student literacy grow and will boost self-esteem.
Some students may not the access to books at home and may not have a library card. Therefore, having access to books like Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Box of Books, The Do-It-Yourself Book, The BFG, James and the Giant Peach or Matilda at school is crucial to academic success and to building a love of reading.
