Classroom Book Bins
My students need a space saving way to hold their Guided Reading books.
My students need an organized way to store their individual Guided Reading books. Our room has tables, not desks, so it is hard to find a way to keep each student's book separate and easily available for them to use.
My students attend a school in a rural district.
It is growing all the time since it is a bedroom community to a large metropolitan area. We currently have seven 1st grades in our building. 1st grade is a year where so much learning takes place. They are all working so hard learning to become better readers, writers, and thinkers. We work in small reading groups with students being grouped by abilities. This helps them to work at a level that is "just right" for them. Therefore, each group is working with different books.
A book cart will make it so much easier for my students to keep their individual books together. The bins are removable from the cart, so they will be able to take their bin and go anywhere in the room to practice their reading. It will also be easy to grab their bin and bring them to reading groups. When they are not using their books, the cart will provide a safe and organized place to store their books/bins.
Classrooms are always short on space!
Finding a place to store enough bins for the entire class is very difficult to do! The book cart and bins will be the answer I've been looking for! Not only will it be a convenient way to store everyone's book, but it will make it easy for the student's to access them!
