Help me give my students supplies like colored paper, scissors, and map pencils. These items are used frequently in my classroom and we have already exhausted the supplies they came with at the beginning of the year.
My classroom is full of diverse learners. I teach three sections of science with students who have very different learning abilities. I have an advanced class that has life skills students pushed in for social stimulus and hands-on science experience, a gifted and talented class with students who constantly need to be challenged, and a class that has students with specific learning abilities that require extra support due to learning disabilities.
I am always looking for various ways to engage all my students.
I believe having engaging hand-on science lessons is one of the best ways I can keep my students focused and wanting to be in my classroom.
My Project
Colored paper and colored pencils are two of the school supplies my students run out of the quickest. Students start the year with one set of colored pencils and they are either broken or lost within the second week of school. Several of my students cannot afford to replace multiple sets of colored pencils so I give them a set of twistables that last longer and don't need to be sharpened.
Paper, Scissors, and pencils oh my!
I use colored printer paper on a daily basis to make their class notes pop or to color-organize station activities. I have often found that students are more likely to study paper or their notes if it is in color or they color it. White paper often gets looked over or lost.
