My students live in the Northwest part of New Jersey. Our town is mountainous and beautiful.
My first graders love to learn, and having fun while learning is a bonus.
This is our first year in a different school building, and my students could use some alternative seating choices. Becoming familiar with a new school can be challenging, but my students have transitioned like champs. I would like for them to have wobble stools so that they can be comfortable and wiggle while they work!
My Project
The materials requested in this project will supply the basic materials that my students need to function on a daily basis. Many students arrive to school without supplies, and our district's limited budget prevents us from providing the supplies that we need to function.
The pencils, paper towels, construction paper, clip boards and magnetic boards requested in this project will allow us to work and learn each day.
It is difficult to write when you have only a pencil stub at your disposal. It is nearly impossible to clean up spills (and we all know spills happen regularly) when there are no paper towels provided. It is difficult to create projects when we do not have access to construction paper. Learning around the classroom is challenging if we don't have clip boards to use. Student work can't be displayed when the walls are concrete and there aren't magnet or cork boards. We need these supplies to function in our classroom.
