Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are amazing! I have never seen a class with so much sparkle and drive as them despite the hardships that a majority of them face. My school is a Title 1 school in Northern California where around 85% of students receive free breakfast and lunch daily. In addition to that, the school works to help them with clothing from local organizations, food from a food pantry, and fundraising for 5th-grade science camp. My students know their hard work will pay off!
My Project
A little help can make a world of difference and bring magic to a child's life! To keep our classroom like the well-oiled machine, we are looking for assistance with some basic products including pencils, paper, erasers, lead, folders, disinfecting wipes, and hand sanitizer. I am hoping that if we can get these items donated, school funds can be spent making the curriculum more engaging by purchasing hands-on and technology-based items. I am sure that this will help out our families who are not able to purchase items for their children or to donate to our classroom.
It is expensive to live in Silicon Valley, and I know families will appreciate items being donated to our classroom so that they can focus on purchasing the necessities for their own household.
I know the products that I have selected will help my students get a great start to the school year! It will be extremely beneficial for students to have these supplies so that we can dive right into learning. I have seen a difference that DonorsChoose has made in previous projects I have submitted.
