Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our students consist of mostly minority students; many of which are English Language Learners. Most students are low-income and some of them are homeless or sharing homes with multiple families. Keeping students in schools and getting them college ready is a main goal for our school. Our staff members love and cherish our students and encourage them to be the best versions of themselves they can be.
Many of our students are experiencing the unfortunate end of the Silicon Valley boom.
The teachers and staff members give our students 100% to make sure they succeed in the classroom. Our classrooms are fully integrated (special needs students in every class) and we encourage an environment for all students to accept and help each other.
My Project
The purpose of these supplies is to help classroom efficiency and safety. Tissues and hand sanitizer will help with keeping our classroom and students healthy. It is currently flu season and our music classroom is running low on supply. Sanitizing wipes will help keep classroom instruments and surfaces clean and free from other's germs.
Not only will it teach students to look after their future instruments, but to also think about what it is like to share instruments with other students.
The pen holders will be added to the sides of xylophones to hold mallets. Typically, mallets are stored on the side of the xylophone, sticking straight up and down. However, the current storage does not allow mallets to be stored with xylophones. This will allow mallets to be stored with their respective instruments and also allow for efficiency when setting up the classroom. The batteries will also allow for all battery powered instruments (keyboards) to be usable at all times. The rechargeable ones will help make sure they are always available for use.
