My students need these consumables to help with daily instruction. The copy paper will be used for creating games to support their learning. The other supplies will allow them opportunities for hands-on learning and exploration.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach in a huge, urban school district at a Title One school where all of the students receive free lunch and breakfast. My school has seven hundred and sixty-two students from all different backgrounds. In a district that is struggling financially, it is my struggle to make sure my students receive an education that does not reflect the lack of funding that is our reality. We have created a home away from home, a place where learning is fun.
My goal is to start my students on their educational path with the right academic tools that will allow them to be successful in the upcoming years of school.
This is important since for most of my students, I am their first experience with school. "Kindergarten is key" is our motto.
My Project
I am in need of these consumables to help support my classroom instruction. The copy paper will allow me to create educational centers to support my instruction. The pencils, stamps and the play doh will go along with those centers as extra materials that are needed for those centers. My instruction will be delivered whole group and I will use the chart paper to model what good writers do.
All great instruction is supported by not only an effective lesson but a great model with visual support.
I will be able to demonstrate effective phonics instruction with the use of these materials.
