This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I am a kindergarten through third special education MID teacher. I helped students in all subject areas in a smaller setting. The students that I serve have a range of disabilities. I teach students that are emotionally disturbed, specific learning disabilities, Autistic, and mild and moderate intellectual disabilities. They make great strides with the one on one help provided inside of my class. They benefit from the small class size. Their work is broken down into smaller chunks so that they can grasp the concept.

My Project

The materials I requested for this project are really needed in my class. The crayons that we have are just too small for the children. They break and now we have a box full of broken crayons. The ink is needed as it's the easiest way to access materials needed and I can print it right then. And finally, the headphones are needed because the ones that we have are breaking by the day. We use headphones because a lot of the programs read to the students and allows them to hear letter sounds more clearly to ensure that they hear and learn what is needed.
