I teach in a full-day preschool classroom with 24 children. These children live in a low-income area where many of them come to school without proper shoes, jackets, and food. Regardless of what's happening at home, these children come to school cheerful, eager, and energetic to learn and explore new things. I enjoy working in this area because it is so rewarding.
I believe my students are entitled to have the best education that I can provide.
My classroom is like a second home for my students; most of them spend more than eight hours a day with me. They use my classroom as a place for warmth, love, and to escape their troubles. As a teacher, it is very important for me to keep my children inspired, engaged, and passionate about learning because these young children are the future.

My Project
During the middle of the year, our basic supplies are starting to run low and need to be replenish. In our program, we implement GLAD to teach our young scholars. When we teach GLAD we like to use the Mr. Sketch smelly markers to sketch and draw pictures for our students so that they can remember what was taught for that day or week.
I like to reward my students with a great big happy face with the smelly marker at the end of the day as an incentive for making safe and good choices for the day.
I am also requesting for pens, permanent markers, post it notes, sharpies, and a storage cart for the staff in our preschool program. These materials will greatly help me help my students to comprehend what I am teaching them. The sharpies and permanent markers will be use to write student's name on the cubbies, toothbrush container, and sentence strips. As a teacher I want to provide the best education as I can for my young scholars; however, we are very limited in basic classroom supplies. We would love for your help and support to help us replenish the basic classroom supplies in our classroom so that I will have the materials I need to teach our young scholars and help prepare them for a greater adventure in Kindergarten.
