Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

It would be wonderful for my class to become published authors. I would like each of my students to see their literary contributions in a hardcover format. Each student would select their best writing pieces and journal entries which document their learning throughout the school year. This would be a unique celebration of their writing that would motivate them throughout the school year. It would also be an excellent record of their academic year and would provide lasting memories. My class is a self-contained elementary special education class grades 2-5. I currently teach all academic subjects throughout the school day. Camino Nuevo Charter Academy is a small public charter school located in downtown Los Angeles, our school is a title 1 school. My entire class consists of English Language Learners. I would like to order a childcraft classroom publishing package that includes 12 large binders for monthly class projects and 27 student binders for individual books. My entire class of 12 will get to participate in this activity throughout the school year and the the larger binders will be able to be used next year as well. Creating professional style books will be a wonderful experience for my budding multi-age authors.
