Ms. E. from Chicago IL is requesting reading nooks, desks & storage through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need seat sacks because we are not provided with individual desks. They need many resources for reading. Many of my requested supplies are going to create an inviting reading area and learning environment.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I will be starting my second year of teaching and will have my highest amount of students in one single classroom so far.
This upcoming year I will have 30 wonderful little minds ready to take on 2nd grade.
I have seen these students walking the hallways and performing poetry. I know that they will be a wonderful class!
I know some of my upcoming students and want to provide them with engaging resources to succeed. Most of my students come from low income backgrounds. They need to be motivated and with the right tools and motivation I know that they can achieve anything in their path.
Many of these supplies are going to be used to create a welcoming classroom. I want my students to feel safe and to develop their love of learning. I am planning on having flexible seating options and improve my classroom library. I also want my classroom to be organized and for all students to have a role in that.
The materials that I am asking for are going to make my students' classroom feel like a second home.
I would like the sofa and rug because students will feel more comfortable sitting there while they read or complete small group activities. I also have many manipulatives and decorations to make our second home fun and engaging.
I know that I am asking for a lot but I truly believe that my students deserve nothing but the best.
