This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

With our return to full-time and in-person instruction this year, there have been quite a few students that have excelled at guitar. As we have moved through the curriculum, the need for a classical guitar has become apparent.

A nylon-string guitar will allow students to develop the technique and style called for in more advanced guitar work.

Currently, we only have steel-string guitars, which work well for most of the class material. However, a nylon-string model will provide a different tone and feel, allowing students to perform in a more musically correct manner. In addition, it will allow me to expand their musical background into different genres and styles.
