Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are amazing! Even though we live in a city full of violence and money problems, these kids come ready to learn! They take trains, cars, and feet, traveling all over the city to get to school which is so amazing! These kids have more skills than most adults I know! They can map out and maneuver a city that can be crazy at times, and they do so with ease. I am so excited to be their ambassador! I am fighting for them to have the materials they deserve!
My Project
I want to give my students books that they will see in high school. I feel that this is important because some of my students that are doing really well in my class need that push to go the extra mile! We take a big test every year that matters a lot for the kids because it can affect where they go to high school. Our high school system is very much like college which can be stressful for the kids. I want to provide that extra help so my kids can get into the high school they want to get in to.
