My Students

I teach in the rural area of beautiful in Eastern North Carolina. Our school is unique in that we are a pre-k through 8th grade school. Many want to be successful but due to a lack of resources in our classrooms, they do not get the practice they need in order to grow. My students need readily available materials that allow for hands-on experiences in the classroom.

The students I teacher are unique, brave, creative and excited to learn new things.

They want to discover more and be challenged. As their teacher and cheerleader, I have to find various materials that exposes them to experiences that enrich and extend their learning.

My Project

As a veteran teacher, I have seen the benefits of technology in the classroom. Students have evolved from paper pencil activities to ones that are implemented through technology.

Technology is a great way to connect, engage and help students build a solid learning foundations in the classroom.

Through the use of Chromebooks, student will be able to have an authentic audience. For example, communicating directly with an author as they discuss their text. Also, students can share their learning with classes around the world through blogs. Additionally as an English Language Arts teacher my students will be able research, create and share projects using their own devices. For example, research papers, book reviews and complete online activities.

We would love to have a google hangout with any and all investors to share our learning and how we use these new Chromebooks daily in our classrooms.
