Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As you may know, schools are experiencing a very challenging time. After the pandemic that all of us went through, behaviors in schools have been very difficult to manage. Something that has helped me this year is a reward system. 5th graders LOVE rewards. I have a store in my class and kids are always trying to do the right thing so they can get money (tickets) that they use to buy. For me, it has been very difficult to keep the store because it is an investment and schools don't always support us teachers for things like this. This is why I'm asking you, generous donors, to support my store as you've done it before.

All the items in my list were chosen by my students.

They created the list together as a group. If you don't know a 5th grader, let me tell you, they love food! My students come from families that struggle economically, so they can't afford many things. This is why my group decided to include in the store the things that their parents can't buy, so they get excited and motivated to get tickets so they can buy in the store!

By helping me to reach my goal, you are also helping these amazing kids to be better, to have something to accomplish!
