My students are hardworking, thoughtful, capable, driven and enthusiastic in learning. My students want to be entertained; they want to have fun, but above all, they want a good education. These kids come in everyday eager to consume meaningful and thought-provoking material. I want to provide students with information that makes them think and motivates them to want more. Information that also challenges them and tests them to the very limit of their capabilities. My students are in middle school and they’ve seen other inspiring teachers influence their lives. Having said that, they want something different; specifically, they want a different way of learning and variety of teaching methods. I know that my class is capable of handling it.
This project is so that my students have headphones to watch educational videos. I run a blended learning classroom where students learn from a traditional class and a flipped class. A flipped classroom is where students learn from videos and can access materials at any time. Luckily my class has a class set of devices but don't have listening devices to accommodate.
Some of my students cannot afford basic supplies and this will help them.
I want students to be in a classroom where all students learn at their own pace. The headphones are an essential part in accomplishing that vision. I imagine a classroom where a group of students are watching educational videos that I make. Others are in small groups work together. Then others are independently practice working on challenging content. All students needs are met.
